Peek Into the Hottest New Place to Stay in
Prince Edward County
The county is calling your name!
The Drake has done it again, and I’m not talking about the rapper! One of the most popular articles in my July enewsletter was about spending 48 Hours in Prince Edward County. (If you’d like to sign up for my once-a-month newsletter, click here and scroll to the bottom).
The article shows a photo of the newest it-joint in the County: the Drake Motor Inn, owned by you guessed it, the same folks behind the Drake Devonshire in PEC. Since many of my clients (and myself included!) love visiting the County I thought I’d share a few more photos of the highly anticipated Drake Motor Inn.
My clients often ask me which condos allow pets (according to Toronto’s city planning staff there are 3-5 dogs on each floor of most pet-friendly condos in the city). When taking a weekend jaunt it makes sense then that people want to bring their pooches. Luckily, the Drake Motor Inn is totally pet friendly! There’s even a vending machine filled with pet treats (and a vending machine with “quirky Canadiana snacks + shoppables” for us humans, too!). Psst, there’s also a “Pleasure Menu” in each room in case you want to pick out a silk blindfold or such…
In our own homes many of us tend to favour neutral colours like white and grey, but when we’re on vacation it’s all about colour and Instagrammable moments. The Drake Motor Inn happens to have both of those things! The bathrooms are also stocked with MALIN + GOETZ apothecary products — ooh la la!
The “cool” factor isn’t in short supply at the Drake Motor Inn! Just like when we stage a property for a prospective buyer, the designers here have made sure that each space feels homey without being too personal. Indoor-outdoor living reigns supreme with comfortable furniture and mid-century lighting strikes just the right mood.
Funky artwork by Toronto photographer Alison Postma hangs behind this pullout couch, and each room is equipped with a Polaroid camera — the perfect "retro” touch for a motor inn! Click here to book your stay at the Drake Motor Inn — just don’t forget my invite! - Andrew Dunn
